Baptism

What Is the Importance of Baptism?

  • It demonstrates to the world that I’m a believer “Those who accepted his message where baptized.” –Acts 2:41 NIV
  • It helps me identify with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection “For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead.” –Colossians 2:12 NLT
  • It represents my willingness to follow Christ “For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the father, now we also may live new lives.” –Romans 6:4 NLT

Why Do We Practice Baptism by Immersion?

  • The Greek word baptizo means to “immerse or dip underwater”.
  • Immersion best symbolizes Christ’s burial and resurrection.

Baptism is normally offered at our Wednesday Night Live services. If you are interested in being Baptized and/or would like more info about Baptism, please call the Church Office 361-573-5433
