Sin causes a great gulf between you and God. “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” Romans 3:23
The good news is God sent His son Jesus to die on the cross for your sins. “But God demonstrates his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
Receiving God’s free gift of salvation is your own choice. “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.” Romans 10:9-10.
Ready to make the Choice? Here is your prayer: Dear God, I admit that I am a sinner and that I have messed up from time to time. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and that God raised Him from the dead. I choose to follow You, Jesus, and I confess that You are my savior. Thank you, Jesus, for saving me. I love You. Amen.

Baptism is simply an outward display and celebration of your inward decision to trust Christ with your life for eternity.
It is an act of obedience and a way we identify personally with what Christ has done for us. It is representative of the fact that Jesus died on the cross, was buried and rose again from the grave, alive, so each of us can experience eternal life.
